Refunds

Mbox Viewer is sold through the Mac App Store and, on Windows, through the Microsoft Store. Because the app store is the seller of record, refunds are requested from and granted by the store — not by us directly. Here's how to do it in each one.

Mac App Store purchases

Apple handles all payments and refunds for the Mac App Store. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account, find the Mbox Viewer purchase, choose “Report a Problem” or “Request a refund”, pick a reason and submit. You can also use the “Report a Problem” link in the receipt email Apple sent you.

Apple reviews and decides each request according to its own refund policy. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method.

Why we can't refund you directly

For App Store purchases, Apple is the merchant of record: it processes the payment and we never receive your card details. Developers have no way to issue refunds for App Store purchases, so every refund must go through Apple. The Microsoft Store works exactly the same way: there, the seller is Microsoft.

Try before you buy

Mbox Viewer is free for files up to 500 MB, with every feature included. We recommend opening a few of your archives in the free version before unlocking unlimited size, so you can confirm it works for you first.

Microsoft Store purchases

The Windows version is sold on the Microsoft Store, so Microsoft handles the payments and the refunds. To request one, open your Microsoft account order history (account.microsoft.com/billing/orders), find the Mbox Viewer purchase, choose “Request a refund”, give a reason and submit it. You can follow it in the refund status tab of that same order history.

Microsoft is stricter about this than Apple, and it's worth knowing before you buy: its policy states that digital goods — apps included — are not refundable unless the offer or applicable law entitles you to a refund, as EU consumer law does. Microsoft reviews every request; processing can take up to 72 hours, and an approved refund goes back to your original payment method in about 3–5 business days. Online returns aren't available in every market.
